Quick Q&A with Parvathy Lakshmy
Could you please give us a quick introduction of yourself?
I am Parvathy Lakshmy, and I have been in the financial services industry for 18 years. Based in Singapore, I oversee the unsecured loans portfolio for Standard Chartered Bank across South Asia, ASEAN, Africa, and the Middle East. I’m passionate about developing strategies and solutions that drive customer satisfaction while helping the bank achieve its goals.
Why did you choose to participate in this summit?
With the rapid evolution of customer solutions and shifting market demographics, staying updated is crucial. This summit offers a valuable opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals, share experiences, and gain insights into future trends. I’m excited to be part of the summit and engage with Martech experts.
With the rise of AI-driven chatbots and automation, how do you see human interactions complementing real-time engagement strategies in banking?
In banking, I view automation as a way to eliminate mundane, rule-based tasks, freeing up time for more value-added activities. However, in an AI-driven world, human oversight remains crucial—not only to maintain the human touch in interactions but also to ensure AI functions as intended. It’s a “garbage in, garbage out” scenario, where humans are essential for providing the right inputs, ensuring fairness, maintaining transparency, and staying within regulatory boundaries.
What trends or shifts in the market are you most looking forward to this year, and how do you plan to stay ahead of the curve?
One key trend I’m closely monitoring is the generational divide in AI adoption and its associated risks. While AI offers immense potential for productivity and efficiency, it also introduces new risks that need to be carefully managed. To stay ahead of the curve, I focus on continuous learning from industry pioneers, remaining adaptable to emerging technologies, and embracing sustainability initiatives. This proactive approach not only helps us meet market demands but also positions us as industry leaders in customer intelligence and engagement.
