Quick Q&A with Peeruntorn Vannaprasert
Could you please give us a quick introduction of yourself?
I lead TMRW Digital at UOB Thailand, where I oversee the growth and evolution of our flagship mobile banking platform. My role centres on delivering secure, seamless, and deeply personalised digital experiences for our retail customers. With over two decades of experience in banking and digital innovation, I’ve had the privilege of working across strategic planning, product development, customer engagement, and data-led transformation. Outside of work, I’m an avid traveller, a keen explorer of cultures, and a lifelong learner with a passion for music and curiosity about the world around us.

As Head of Retail Digital, how do you view the role of mobile banking apps and digital touchpoints in reinforcing customer trust and retention?
Mobile banking apps have evolved far beyond transactional tools—they are now trust-building platforms. At UOB Thailand, nearly 80% of our retail customers are digitally active, with over half engaging monthly. Our UOB TMRW app is designed to offer secure, personalised experiences through features such as Smart Insights and real-time fraud monitoring. Enhanced chatbot and live chat capabilities further improve responsiveness, reducing the need for branch visits and reinforcing customer confidence and satisfaction.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to brands – banking or otherwise, trying to retain customers in a world full of distractions and choices?
Stay relentlessly relevant and effortlessly accessible. Understand your customers not just through data, but through empathy—anticipate their needs and deliver value at the right moment. Beyond technology, trust is built through consistency, transparency, and genuine care. In a world overflowing with options, customers remain loyal to brands that simplify their lives, safeguard their interests, and offer meaningful connections.
From your perspective, how can banks better utilise digital insights to anticipate customer needs and enhance lifetime value?
Digital insights offer a powerful lens into customer behaviour, enabling banks to anticipate needs, personalise engagement, and enhance protection. Timely financial nudges and relevant product recommendations can be delivered with precision. Our real-time fraud monitoring system, for instance, helps detect and prevent scams, reinforcing trust. When harnessed thoughtfully, these insights deepen relationships, drive sustained engagement, and ultimately grow lifetime customer value.
