As marketing teams face increasing pressure to prove impact with limited resources, building an effective demand generation engine requires more than simply adding new tools. It requires better data, smarter workflows and a clear connection between marketing activity and business outcomes.
Ahead of The MarTech Summit London 2026, we spoke with Anca Bontea, Associate Director of Digital Marketing at Regnology, about the future of demand generation, the role of AI-powered workflows, improving marketing measurement and how teams can build more connected growth engines in an evolving MarTech landscape.

Quick Q&A with Anca Bontea
Could you please give us a quick introduction of yourself and share a bit about your role at Regnology?
I am Anca Bontea, Associate Director of Digital Marketing at Regnology. My focus is on growth strategy, marketing automation, CRM, and integrating AI workflows into the marketing function. As a personal project, I also publish the bi-weekly newsletter Marketing x AI Advantage, where I explore how AI is reshaping marketing infrastructure, search visibility, and industry trends.
Why did you choose to participate in this summit?
The themes of this summit align closely with what I see in the field every day. Marketing technology is undergoing a structural shift, from how brands achieve visibility in AI search engines to how the martech stack is restructuring around agents and APIs.
When marketing teams have limited time, budget and resources, where should they focus first to make their demand generation engine more effective?
Fix the tracking and review the measurement. If you can’t connect marketing activity to revenue, you can’t defend your budget or know what’s working.
Automate the repeatable. Free up human bandwidth by streamlining recurring operational tasks.
Make your content discoverable by AI systems. The way buyers find vendors is shifting. People research and compare before choosing, and AI search has become a primary discovery channel. Structured, clear content that AI can retrieve and cite is becoming as important as traditional SEO.
Where are you seeing AI and automation make a meaningful difference to demand generation today, rather than simply helping teams produce more content or work faster?
In 2026, many organisations are trying to move past the phase where AI helps with individual tasks and into a phase where it automates connected workflows. In demand generation, that means going from using separate tools for research, content, design, and analytics to having an integrated AI system that runs across all of them.
Do you think marketers sometimes spend too much time trying to perfect their data before acting on it? How do you know when the data is “good enough” to make a decision?
I have found that data quality matters as much as understanding the data. Most teams have enough data to act on. What separates the ones that make good decisions is the ability to read what’s behind the numbers. This requires experience, context, and the discipline to ask why something is happening before deciding how to respond.
Can you share one personal or professional goal you’d like to achieve in 2026?
I am lucky to work in a team that treats AI readiness as a strategic priority, not a side project. That means the data layer, workflow integration, and team development are all moving together so AI can operate across demand generation, pipeline, and customer expansion as one connected system.
On a personal level, I want to grow Marketing x AI Advantage from a newsletter into a resource for marketing professionals navigating these shifts. The pace of change is creating a real knowledge gap, and I’ve seen how much value comes from not just curating the latest developments but actively testing them.
Anca’s perspective highlights that successful demand generation is not about having more data or more technology, but about using both with greater clarity and purpose. By improving measurement, automating repeatable processes and making content more discoverable, marketers can create stronger connections between customer needs and business growth.
As AI continues to reshape how buyers discover, evaluate and engage with brands, the organisations that combine human judgement with intelligent systems will be best positioned to build scalable and effective marketing engines.
