The Virtual MarTech Summit APAC 2022 had been successfully held on 25th May 2022. It was a fantastic experience again, thanks to the MarTech community!
This edition of the Virtual MarTech Summit had a special focus on Hong Kong. It gathered more than 25 pioneering thought-leaders from global companies around the world operating in various verticals.
There were more than 10 sessions including fireside chats, panel discussions, keynote presentations and lightning talks being delivered to 500+ live attendees.
Here are some of our team’s key takeaways from this summit:
- Cookieless and First-Party Data means we are gaining invaluable insights across every touch point on a customer journey. All brands should build meaningful relationships and personalised experiences.
- Reinvent MarTech under the framework of Metaverse and Web 3.0, shape your strategies from control to collaborate for shared success and profits.
- Execute on-going moderation and optimization for your MarTech implementation, as there is no one-size-fit-all solution. Don’t follow the trend, find out the brand message and know what your future audiences want.
And now the spotlight is on our audience. Let’s hear their voice by looking at some insights from the poll questions:
Starting with a difficult but trendy one – Cookieless. The 1% who chose Chocolate Cookies would face huge obstacles in a Cookieless era.
Of course Web 3.0 & Metaverse is another one of the hottest trends. Marketers are considering using it to engage with your clients and customers.
Moving to another important element in MarTech – Data and Marketing Automation, we’re pretty sure our audience members are in different stages on their automation process.
Budget-wise, marketers need to realise how crucial data is to making decisions to drive growth and boost sales. Investing in effective data-driven marketing would definitely be mutually beneficial to both sales and marketing.
But bear in mind, when implementing new MarTech Strategy, the digital readiness is always the biggest consideration.
And your favourite part, the notable quotes and key takeaways we highlighted from the summit:
“How can you create different messages for people that are using your products in different ways? Know who your audience are and tailor your message that makes it relevant for them.” – Chelsea Perino, Managing Director, Global Marketing & Communications, The Executive Centre
“Collecting first party data is a delicate balance of not collecting too much from them while providing a good customer experience.” – Christine Chan, Head of Business Development and Marketing, Deacons
“What data are you capturing? The more fields you make mandatory, the less willing people are to fill. The structure of your form is also important, design your form to collect data in a way to have the least manual changes later.” – Alice Chiu, Marketing Director, Novoheart
“For old data, check how accurate and valid it is. If the data is good, you may engage your data architect to see how to add this data set to your data model to enable MarTech tools to consume it/” – Victor Cobo Ramirez, Asia eCommerce & MarTech Lead, Manulife
“CDP is an assistance tool for a brand to enhance user experience. Its aim is to provide our consumers with what they need on a timely basis.” – Romain Rouquier, VP of Data, South China Morning Post
“Web 3.0 is all about community. It needs to be created with all parties involved as a community. Not in a way that a group creates and another group consumes.” – Eric Thain, General Manager, Brand & Customer, HK Express
“Mobile is a must, like it or not. Frictionless experience in every step of the journey is more critical than factors like pricing.” – Rachel Lam, Head Of Marketing, HK and SH, Saxo Markets
“An experience renaissance is well underway now, the way customers want to be engaged has changed, you need to empower people such as your employees and optimise business operations.”
– Chandra Stevens, Principal, Customer Experience Solutions, Microsoft
